Radisson Roe Park Hotel Golf & Country Club
Grand 5* Hotel
Completed in record time, the first ‘Super Hotel’ sets new standard for the Northern Ireland Tourist industry Providing 100 luxury bedrooms, dedicated conference, golf and leisure facilities all located in the Roe Park Estate, which dates from the 17th Century. The design team at Hobart & Heron used their previous experience in hotel design to ensure the new buildings blended in with the architectural character and scale of the listed Historic Buildings on the estate. Roe Park House is located centrally and overlooks the golf course and the tranquil Roe Valley. Two new wings carefully detailed in terms of scale and form, were added on either side. They provide bedroom and conference facilities. Hobart & Heron have used double height space internally at reception and in other areas of the hotel, and introduced natural daylight where possible throughout the project. This spatial aspect in combination with the rich décor and furnishing provides guests with vibrant, interesting areas as they move through the various facilities Hobart & Heron have provided in the Hotel. The use of subtle colours externally blends the buildings into its rural landscape. A new dedicated major conference facility with breakout rooms and Bureau Office is provided at Radisson Roe Park. The design ensures flexibility of use by introducing two 4.5m high moveable acoustic walls, which can divide the room into smaller rooms. Again careful design planning ensures each individual room is fully serviced – environmentally, audio visually and from the kitchen. A central roof light provides natural daylight into the conference room. Automatic blackout blinds ensuring total dark is provided for corporate presentations. Additional meeting rooms are provided in the large ‘period’ rooms of Roe Park House. The Coach House dating from 1740 provides the hotel with its Golf Club facility. The original building has been totally refurbished and extended. Many of the original architectural features have been reinstated, remodelled or reused. The restaurant on the first floor has been provided with magnificent views over the parkland golf course. The leisure pool incorporates a Jacuzzi, changing rooms, sauna, and steam and fitness suite. Separate Beauty salon and dance studio are also provided. The design ensures views are provided from these areas out over the mature grounds of the Hotel.
